Case Study House + Pacific Ocean View + Possibility Case Study House # 18, West House, Rodney Walker, 1947-1948 Completely private, at the end of a long driveway, unassumingly sitting among its peers and contemporary Case Study houses designed by Neutra, Saarinen & The Eames house itself, the experimental structure is placed on half an acre of land and is oriented toward the Pacific Ocean. The one level house offer efficient, succinct straight forward design including 2 bedrooms plus an office/den. All the public indoor/outdoor entertaining areas & kitchen are facing the intoxicating ocean view and breezes. The nearly half land allows for a secondary potential structure designed by Tom Kundig, a Seattle-based design practice. Opportunity to build a 21st century domicile and own a Case Study House on the same property or potentially divide. The Case Study Houses were experiments in American residential architecture sponsored by Arts & Architecture again, which commissioned the major architects of the day to design and build efficient model homes for the United States after the war.
