This charming hideaway in Rustic Canyon is located on appropriately-named Rustic Road, which has a stream running through its center. One approaches the home by some stairs and a leisurely, gated footpath, passing through fruit trees and flowers. The hideaway, on four lots, nearly one-half acre, is reminiscent of Northern California. It has inspired many artists who lived there, up to and including the present. There is now a fully equipped art studio in the garden. One of the artists was Brett Weston. He installed a dark room for his father, the photographer Edward Weston, creator of many world famous images. The living room, with its high ceilings, large windows, sky lights, oak floors, and rustic fireplace creates an atmosphere of peace and contentment. In addition to the living room, there are also skylights throughout the rest of the house: Both bathrooms, dressing room, dining room, and kitchen. The master bedroom, with is floor to ceiling windows, allows near view of foliage and trees of various shades of green, and distant views of hills and sky. The views can also be enjoyed from the windows and balconies in other rooms as well as the deck and the patio. There are two bedrooms, a den, bonus room, two full baths (one leading to a charming small, private garden, the other with a Jacuzzi tub), and a freestanding art studio/office/home gym. Each room has a deck or balcony.
